Andrew Lorraine

Director

Specialty: American English
Country focus: Slovakia, Russia
Areas: Proofreading, Copywriting, Translation
Credentials:

  • Fulbright Grantee, Kosice (2012-13),
  • Certificate for the Study of Slovak Language, Intermediate Level, Comenius University of Bratislava (2014)

Andrew arrived in Slovakia in 2012 to teach English at Gymnazium Park mladeze in Kosice. Despite his Slovak heritage, he knew little about Slovakia and even less about the language (his first words were “dobre,” “dakujem,” and “pivo”). His year in Kosice was full of experiences that helped him grow to appreciate the country and its people, all while exploring his roots in Eastern Slovakia. After spending the past few years working in New York and London, he moved full-time to Bratislava to develop a career at the center of US-Slovak business.
